[03 Sep 2004|05:02pm]
Everything is rent...

for real- nothing is forever--

"I think they meant it, when they said you can't buy love. Now I know you can rent it"

"I don't own emotion, I rent"

Tell me one thing that isn't rented...

this is fun [19 Aug 2004|11:00am]
Post anything that you want, and post it anonymously. Anything. seriously...
A story, a secret, a confession, a fear, a love - anything. Be sure to post anonymously and honestly. Post twice if you'd like. Then, put this in your LJ to see what your friends (and perhaps others who you don't even realize read your LJ) have to say.

Micheal Moore [18 Aug 2004|01:53pm]
This came up because of something i read. Everyone's bashing Moore because of the movie and all his sarcasm and anti- everyhting that is bush. Well, sometimes you have to call attention to be heard and that is exactly what he is doing. 9 times out of 10 we hear the side of the news that bush wants us to hear and unless you look into things beyond television thats the only side you get. I don't see half as much controversy springing from this as from Moore's film. He's just holding firm ground despite of constant fire. Now, I am not a hard-core democrat... but I definetaly believe in freedom of speech and freedom of thought. We definately cannot trust anyone to give us unbiased information, so the next best thing is to get the extreme right and the extreme left and choose for ourselves. Moore is making people think, because even those who constantly bash him are listening-- or else they would have nothing to bash! Thinking has started the great changes that have brought our society to where we are today. And we still have quite a way to go... the more people speak their minds (as long as they are informed of course- and Moore IS informed... watch 911.. that facts are there) the faster our world will get to where it needs to be! Ok im done with my rant now. Really. I feel better.

Descrimination [16 Aug 2004|08:09pm]
Where did prejudice start? For real-- who was the first person to hate? It is so present in our lives, that I wonder if it even had a start. Were humans born with an innate sense that they were a greater being than their siblings? Or did prejudice come about as a system of self defense? What about before the colonization of the Americas and before slavery, did the spanish descriminate other spaniards, and did the english hate other englishmen? What about as nomads- where social status and wealth were not present? Was there then only discrimination between men and women? And did they recognize it as a form of oppression, or did they find it normal? When did people find a word for this behavior? And if society advances foward, why, then, is there so much discrination? Or is there the same amount and the difference is that people recognize it and point it out? Is there a history book out there that traces the roots of prejudice? What if a child grows up being the only one of his race, will he still be prejudiced? And if people today are so aware of the evil and harm of prejudice in our society with "freedom and justice for all," why don't they do anything to fight it within themselves? When will our world change? And is there really anything we can do to help it? Even if we try, is there anyone willing to listen?

Jonathan Larson in my Idol [16 Aug 2004|04:54pm]

Thank you for the work you have done and the legacy you have left us. Your words have changed countless lives around the world. Your musicals have moved me like nothing I had ever experienced. Some(many)people would say I am obsessed, but I truly believe that your musical has made everyday truths aware to a new audience in a new light. You have created characters though which we can all identify: I can feel Mark's isolation, and Roger's yearning; Maureen's need for creativity and Joanne's need for reality; Angel's love, and Collin's gratitude; even the squeegie man trying to make an "honest living" for himself. RENT portrays a timeless generation. I know that you will never read this, but I want to thank you so for changing my life. Because of you, I am a better person. You have motivated eveyone who crosses your path to... JUMP OVER THE MOON!

Thank you,

[15 Aug 2004|08:08pm]
Has anyone ever walked down the street and passed by someone and wondered what their name was? Have you ever seen a total stranger and wondered what his life is like, and what he does for a living, and where he's headed? Have you ever wondered what thoughts are going through people's heads as you are talking to them? Have you ever wished you knew what people have gone through, so you can understand their actions, or to know if you've gone through it too? Have you ever wondered how you end up where you're at and how your life could be different? I have.
